Why does steroids affect a mans fertility and reduced sperm count?

I get how the steroids increase the bodies testosterone levels, causing the body to produce less of its own testosterone and how this reduces fertility. But how? If you are putting testosterone in your body, what does it matter if your body synthesizes its own testosterone!?

  1. TXDiver says:

    Tom,
Your body is always changing and balancing. If you inject Testosterone, the body senses this and slows production of it owns because the body doesn’t "need" it. Over time, with lots of injections, the testicles do not need to be as big, or do as much work, so they slow down, and shrink. If you stay on the juice too long, this will be permanent.
Small doses of steroids taken in carefully prescribed cycles do work, but only under a doctors care.
